Looking for any info on: serial 100-41732.

Look up the serial number on the Ruger site. I do see a little pitting on the barrel underneath the coat of oil.

Correct. I was aware of the year-1973.These sat in an open faced gun cabinet in an empty house for 2 yrs

I was looking for a Ruger 44 Carbine to travel with my Old Model Flattop 44 mag when I came upon a Ruger #3 single-shot 44 mag rifle in near new condition with it's original box---the price was really right and I bought it on the spot! Come to find out, they only made between 200-400 #3s in 44 mag, so it's kinda rare...
