This was just discussed a short time back. There is far less sound reduction between open muzzle and suppressor when using the low velocity ammo.
In fact, the sound reduction isn't worthwhile to suppress low velocity (CCI QUIET) ammo. Use sub-sonic ammo with the muffler and leave the expensive QUIET for the non-suppressor guns.

Interesting. In my experience the sound reduction is worthwhile. Even 710's my quietest round sounds pretty loud outdoors coming out of the charger without suppressor.
Night & day difference. I use All CCI suppressor rounds as well. To me , the 710's are even quieter. Thanks.

Reached out to the SB Tactical guys about getting their forend for the Charger Takedown. Said they don't sell it by itself, so they sent me one to try out for free! Put it on my 8" Louie barrel and will take it to the range this weekend. Feels nice and solid.

Shot 165 rounds of Federal today without a hitch. Tight groupings at 5 and 10 yards. About half were suppressed, and the others can-free. The only thing I'm seeing is the 25-round mags are harder to insert into the receiver than the 15-round mags. Any tips for this?

I'm a bit curious about your comments of shooting at '5 and 10 yards'. The pictures I see are of a Charger TD with folding brace which would not be challenged at such short range.

You are right. I am just looking for short-range results to start, then I will move out to 25 yards (max at our indoor range). Using a red dot for now... More a challenge for me at this stage.

I 'rock them in' sort of like inserting an AK magazine. The only rifle that I use the 25 round mags in is my 77/22 practice rifle. It's mag catch is a bit worn so the only way it holds and feeds from the 25 rounders is when I use a couple of rubber bands to semi support the lower end of the mag--not a quick change practice.
