Ruger # 1B 22Hornet

I have a Ruger # 1B in 22Hornet, bought over 15 years ago s/n 132-92323.
Anyone can tell me how many of them are made?

No. Ruger does not release production figures.

The 22 Hornet "B" was cataloged from 2003 through 2006. Prior to that there were some on the market. Maybe from a short uncataloged run.

I consider both the 22 Hornet and the 218 "B", cataloged at the same time to be uncommon but don't personally class them as being truley rare.

As we don't have a "Number" it's just and educated guess and others may have a different opinion.

I bought this rifle in 1996, I remember. I will check my record book for sure.

Yes, there were some out there with red recoil pads, probably from a short run prior t the cataloged guns. No way of knowing though and I've never seen a published "estimate" of the number made prior to the cataloged run.

If you can't find your records simply call Ruger Records with the serial number and they can tell you when it shipped.

You're referring to the never cataloged 1A 22 Hornet. The discussion above is about the 1B Hornet which was cataloged for quite a few years.

You should get a copy of the reprinted Ruger No. One book, which discusses a lot about these rifles and includes a complete history of what was cataloged over the entire production life (it also includes valuable information about what non-cataloged/ pre-cataloged rifles were produced in any given year). The 1B Hornet had, I believe, at least a 10 year cataloged run and several years of uncataloged production before that.

You should have bought the Clayton Ruger No.1 book at Dallas. Helps you know the various configurations!
The Hornet was only made in the B(cataloged) and A(uncataloged); and the No.3, if you want to include it!
There are 11 (or more) configurations, most not made in all calibers, and some calibers in only 1 configuration.
To my knowledge, the .243 is the only caliber I know of in all configurations.
The BB, BBS, BH, BHS, BBB, BHB, AB, AH, ABS, AHS, and 1V.
CR may know of another caliber.
