I think I became the last person on earth to finally buy a 10/22. :) Anyway, I've wanted one for some time, after hearing so much good things about them. It will be used for target shooting at the range. I shoot a Henry .22 lever gun, and I think this new gun will be a great companion for it. I'm going to scope it, mainly because of my age and eye site. It is the Carbine model.

Congrats and welcome to the Forum.

It's likely this wil not be your LAST 10/22!

Congrats! I just bought my 10/22 a couple weeks ago. I ordered several 25-round magazines last night...if I had not bought them, I'd have had to buy a BUNCH of 10-round mags!!!

The key to happiness with a semi-auto...LOTS of ammo and LOTS of magazines!!! I have 20 +/- mags for my Mk 1, Mk 2s and Standard!

Oh and WELCOME....this is a great place to hang out.

Bob

A 10/22 is always a good thing to bring home. #16 comes home this weekend here.

I dont know of any way to have more fun than a 10-22. They just flippin work! I have spent many hundereds of dollars "hopping up" my latest 10-22 and I dont think it shoots a bit better now than it did the day it came out of the box. I said that to say this, you dont have to spend a bundle on it to have fun. Put a nice scope on it and shoot the heck out of!

No you are not the last, I still do not have one! I keep finding other things to by, just picked up a Walther PPK/S, 38 years old unfired except for test rounds. 2 mags, original German manual, original box and cleaning rod.

Thanks for the replies. At least one more 10 round mag. is on my list. Does anyone make an easy loader for the rotary magazine? Because of my age, it is some what hard to push the last few rounds into the mag. Getting older has some down side problems. I'm sure I'll enjoy this rifle, even with the loading of the magazines being less that easy for me.

The 10 round magazines are on sale at Midway USA for $11.49

Here is a 10/22 magazine loader:

Thanks for the heads up, ranger1, on the magazine loader. The reviews sound good. If I'm understanding the ad correctly, it will work on the Ruger 10 round rotary. Am I right?

Yes, it will work on factory mags.

Found me a 22 inch stainless at local gun shop used for $250. Installed a center point scope from Wal Mart. It's shoots great and I like the feel and sound of the action cycling. Found one like it doing a web search: http://www.lipseys.com/itemdetail.aspx?itemno=RUK1022-22&mfg=Ruger&family=10%2f22+Series&type=Rifle&action=Semi-Auto
