Would you get the most accuracy out of an 18" 1:9 twist bull barrel or a 1:16 when using subsonic ammo?

This is the most accurate rifle I have under 100 yrds. It has a 20" 1:16 IIRC:

Trying out various ammo at 50 yds. Can do better with given known brand, but have lost data/photos on that.

Having a great scope helps also

Good question but how heavy?... I've put those weird (60 gr bullet in short case) Aguila "sniper" subsonic rds through five different rimfires on hand and none of them shoot it worth a dang... :?

(Unless you do your "sniping" at less than about 50 feet)

Conventional wisdom would say the 1:9 would be best for this long heavy bullet...

Could be that none of these rounds that only go 600-700 fps or so are gonna give BR accuracy, but then again I guess their whole point is quiet use on backyard pests and 50' is enough...

Me? I'll stick with CB long...

I'm using the 40gr. CCI Segmented HP and wanted to know what would be the best bull barrel for long range accuracy a 1:9 or 1:16. I should metion that the barrel must be threaded as I have a AAC Prodigy suppressor to put on the end of it.

Then definitely stay with the standard 1:16 twist. The 1:9 twist is for extra-heavy bullets like the 60-65 grain Aguilas.

I have the regular 1:16 Volquartsen heavy muzzle weighted barrel on one of my rifles, and it is a tack driver. The one in nine twist version is dedicated to the 60 gr. SSS bullet that Snake45 is referring to.

Click on the link, and when it comes up, click on the barrel option. You will see the 1:9 version.
