rubber grip life??

how long does a set of rubber grips last on average? i have a ruger police service six and bought some mustang grips from numrich for spares. i have the one's on the gun and 2 spare sets, just wanted to know how long they last. thanks

I'd say it depends on how much they're used, how they're stored, if they're ever cleaned or exposed to chemicals.

I know a retired state trooper who carries a Speed Six with compact Pach grips that must be 30 years old!

Mine last until I get get 'em off the gun and into the trash can but ..... some folks like 'em I know.

I'd say it depends upon the actual compound used in the rubber as well. I have some that I know are at least 30 years old.

I have several sets of Pachmyre rubber grips on my S&W DA's that have been in continual use since the mid to late 1970s. Other than physical wear from contact they are in great shape.
