I have Ruger 2-piece box. The end label says catalog no. is RSSM. Mark on side of box is D502687. Doesn't make sense to me. Is this a mislabeled box? See pix.

My best guess is that it's a D gun box and no it's not missed labeled. If you can find the guy with that gun he will pay dearly for the box to go with it.

According to RENE, there's a whole "run" of the "D" guns from D500000 thru D505140 from 1968, of which about 3450 were RSSMs. These were convertibles.
