Hi All,

Have a look at my modded RPR with a custom mag release lever.

Does it match the factory stock quite right?

In Poland you just need to pass the sporting license exam (or hunting, or collectors, or personal protection) and you are allowed to buy guns from .22" up to .5" (.5" not included) and 12GA. They need to be manual or semi-auto (full-auto only for instructors, special security and law enforcement). Then you are able to modify them any way you want providing that you are not replacing "vital gun parts" (bolt/receiver/barrel/gun frame/ammo drum for revolvers) or messing with gun serial no. In my case replacing the barrel in 10/22 required special document (it was like buying another gun with dedicated serial no.).
So no, I am not a special citizen ;) maybe my hobbies are a bit special I give you that.

We generally don't get much reliable info about gun control rules and regulations in other countries, which is why I sounded somewhat surprised. We can barely keep up with the 20,000 or so gun laws we have in the US at the National, State, and local levels. Traveling between States, or sometimes even different cities or counties can land you in legal trouble if you are transporting a firearm. On the other side of the spectrum a little over half of US States have no requirements for permits, or restrictions on carry, etc. But we still can't buy a suppressor without getting permission from the ATF. It's kind of a unholy mess here in many ways.

This is a reliable source for brief info for State level laws without having to read all the statutes. I'm in Mississippi, which is one of the most lenient States - and also generally tops the list of most hated States by the anti-gun organizations and legislators. About 70% of MS residents have at least one gun. :)

Let me give you 2 examples in Poland:
- you need an ATF permission to buy suppressor? in Poland you can buy it without any restrictions... ok there is just one - you cannot use it. Yes, I wrote correctly you can buy it, own it but cannot use it. Not at the range not anywhere.
You can guess how many collectible suppressors I already own that are not used. Not anywhere... at least nobody heard me using them XP

- you can concealed carry your firearm when going to the range. However you are not allowed to carry in public transportation. So if you carry and are forced to use public transportation then what you should do according to the letter of law is to unload the gun at the bus/train/tram stop... and then get inside the empty vehicle as most passengers had already run away XD
Not to mention that you should reverse the process once you get out. Ok ok I know that this calls for better planning but you may actually be forced to do that - car breaks during your trip to the range or sth.
