Hi folks
I know is is not a Ruger question. But need some info. If someone out there has a Rossi pump 62a copy of the Winchester. I have a question on serial numbers. If you could take the rifle apart and tell if the numbers match on both pieces. There may just be 4 numbers on the piece under the receiver but they may match the last 4 on the receiver. I don’t know if they are supposed to have matching numbers or not. Mine doesn’t, just wanted to see what another one looks like.
Thanks for your time

I'm sorry, I don't have a Rossi, but I do have a Taurus, which looks almost identical. Are they made by the same people? The one I have is stainless steel. I would venture a guess that they should have matching serial numbers, wouldn't they?

I have several Rossi's in various configurations; some with serial numbers on tangs and some with serial numbers on the side of the frame. None of them have an internal matching number.

They may look identical, but the Taurus is much more like the Winchester 62 that it's modeled after than the Rossi is. All are fine .22's.
