I have never heard of the Rossi brand. Does ANYONE have any experience with it? I can get it NEW at about 1/3 price. However, I have no desire to buy junk at any price. A little help?

Rossi can be hit or miss. But at $123 you might be ok. Can you out hands on it first?

I can actually get it for $99, which scares the hell out of me, considering it is a .22 WMR. I can get hands on it, but not sure if this shop-new to me- has a test range.

I have a Rossi 357 Magnum revolver in bright stainless. The quality is quite good. Feels every bit as solid as a Smith & Wesson.

I have one. They are good rifles for the cost. Cycles any ammo I have tried.

Trigger is a bit stiff. The bull barrel on the light stock does not balance well. I had mine cut and threaded to 16.25 inches. That solved the balance issue. You could put weight in the stock I suppose.

I also have an RS22 lr, it is also a decent rifle for price point. I bought the threaded model, and it will cycle with a suppresor.

The RS22m will not cycle suppressed.

The brand name has been selling guns in the USA since the 1970's, mostly revolvers with designs similar to Smith and Wesson and rifles similar to the Winchester 1892, all imported from Brazil. They have been through about six ownership changes in 50 years including Taurus and Braztech, and have a nearly completely revamped and new facility under the current regime. I had an M88 (stolen) and an R92 in .454 Casull (refurbed and sold) and still have an R92 in .357 (an Old Model). For the price I would try it for sure except I don't buy new guns.

I don't have a RS22, but I do have two Rossi 22 LR rifles, a lever action and a pump... I bought them for my Grandson's to shoot when they come out (That's my story, and I'm sticking to it! )
Both have proven to be accurate, reliable and well worth the price that I paid for them. So, I wouldn't hesitate to get the semi-auto version if one ever happens to cross my path.

Note that long stock. For balance maybe? As for the name changes- were they part of the Ring Of Fire group? They all were major name changers.

Why is it discounted so much? Maybe an issue?..... Can you inspect it? If online don't most sellers have a three day inspection?.. for that price I'd probably take it ($99... you can hardly go to McDonalds for that anymore)..... 22 semi auto is not exactly new cutting technology... Most of us could probably make it run with a bit of TLC......

No name changes for Rossi just ownership changes by parent companies. Unsure about the reference to "long stock". The two 1892 copies I had/have were/are "normal".

I’ve had one of the Rossi lever guns in 45 colt and it shot fine. I just never could get comfortable with it so I gave it to my son. The only thing I would say as a 22WRM it will be a lot more expensive than shooting 22 lr.
At that price, I don’t think you can go wrong as long as it’s a new gun. If it was used, I’d be cautious because I wouldn’t know how well it had been cared for.

Most Rossi 1892 copies have a plastic one. It was the first thing they switched from metal to plastic. My "old model" R92 has a factory metal follower, butt plate, rear sight elevator ... everything is metal or wood. The .454 Casull I had was Puma era and had the plastic follower I swapped for a brass one off eBay. Another major difference in the old originals and all the newer versions is the safety. My .357 has none. All the later ones have a goofy safety on top. I disabled the one on the .454 and put a peep in its place.

I was a moderator on a Rossi forum and still have a little bit of memory if anyone needs help with one.

Rossi and Taurus are both decent Brazil brands. 90% of the ones I've seen were decent guns. At that price no question. Buy it.

Actually, Taurus merely owned Rossi for a while and the R92s made during that time are very sketchy.
