I picked up this old Flat Top at a local Gun Show and it looks to be a Ross variation but not in pristine condition. Would appreciate any feedback as to value in this condition or any other info or comments. It hasn't been converted, has the small wavy front sight, and small ejector button. It came with aftermarket grip panels
i swapped out for period correct panels in similar condition to the rest of the package.

Thanks
Steve

It does appear to be a Ross variation. A non-Ross gun in that shape would be around a $500 gun. There is a premium for that model but most collectors want condition. The collectibility of that model lies in the serial number range and most folks would just see it as a worn shooter. It would be tough to put a value on that one in that condition. A high condition Ross should bring around $1200-$1500.

My Ross variation is also "used." But,, it's still one of the 800 or so Ross variations that I treasure finding. Definitely worth more than a standard OM FT.

Affliction? Heck, I have a full blown disease! (It's called Rugeritis,, and I'll whoop anybody who offers a cure.)

Steve, that is a very nice gun, you done good.....I thought we had found one yesterday,BUT alas, it is a few hundred numbers "below" ( before) the Ross gun, and is a proper type II,,,, BUT about new and in the box...............

again, you got a good one 8)

Dern Dan,, that is a NICE one! I had a call about a Ruger yesterday too. The guy started off with; "I got this old Flattop Ruger in 98% condition that I've never seen one like it." My heart went pitter-patter.
Then he said; "It is marked, Single-Six .22 RF WMR". My heart sunk,,, as I was hoping to find an odd one. Well, this guy tinkers in buying & selling. He'd just never seen a Magnum marked Single-Six. I politely informed him of how it wasn't a Flattop,,, & gave him as much info as I could. Oh well,,,, maybe I'll get lucky & find a gem like that one.
