Ross flattops

A few years ago there was a thread that had closeup pictures of 5 to 10 Ross variation .357 Flattops. Just curious if anybody is able to find that old thread.

Jim Luke, the one I'm looking for should be a little newer than that. There should be quite a few responses and the thread and there was a lot of discussion about the serial numbers themselves...with closeup pics of 8-12 serial numbers.

Chet15, if you're looking for that really long one that I think I started a long time ago, I fear it got dumped during a housecleaning several years ago. It's too bad, too . . . there was a LOT of good info brought out in that one, and in fact it totally reversed my initial opinion on the subject.

I'm trying to see if I somehow saved it, but no luck so far.

I have grabbed the two Jim posted above (thanks, Jim).

I recall that post,,, as the main topic of discussion was HOW the serial numbers looked. We were trying to decide if the numbers were hand stamped,, rollmarked,, etc as some numbers were offset a bit. A good discussion & lots of thoughtful insight to the possibilities.

Looks like we're going to have to start a new thread. I think I wrote about it in the New Varieties column in RENE, but will have to look back in some backissues, but there was one Ross serial number pictured there where the first "1" was almost touching the next digit.
If everybody wants, can we start a new thread with closeup pics of Ross serial numbers??
