Roman history needed

Colleagues: Back-In-The-Last-Century, I enrolled in some Roman history classes. For some reason I was thinking about art patrons and I thought about a Roman who was noted for patronizing the arts. Can not recall his cname, which has become synonymous with someone patronizes the arts. Does anyone know/recall the name?
