Is there another way than Calling Ruger to see if the gun was born with the brass from the factory. Its a 7,5 inch barrel. Blu frame and serial number. 140- 21xxx. The brass handle is originall marked from Ruger
The serial number is 140-21767.I am on the way to the range for testing my new ROA silver serial number 2xxx. How does 18 grains by volume triple seven fff swaged 457 bullet and filler to match sounds for 25 yards target shooting. Thanks
According to Dougans book, it did not ship with the brass grip frame. Almost all of the ones that will letter are numbered 140-0xxxx. Note the "0" as the first digit in the suffix of the serial. Only a couple shipped with a different digit than "0".
Thank you. I gonna write Ruger a email just to be sure. I am right now looking at 10 ROA for sale in Germany. 50% are blue with Brass. 25 % are stainless the rest is all blue. Mayby Ruger made a special deal for a german importer.
18 gr/vol of 3f 777 is equivalent to 20 gr/vol of 3f real black; actually a bit anemic for an ROA. I think you'll find 30 gr/vol 3f real black (or 25 gr/vol 3f 777) is more accurate.
I agree with Mykeal. Crank that 777 load up to 30 gr/vol to start. You should find it suitable for shooting the 147 gn round ball.
Go up a bit more and you can get the ROA barking pretty good. I break 1000 fps with mine.
