I was ordering some sights from Skinner Sights not long ago and saw these cases. I ordered a 36 inch one for the lever action and a 38 inch one for the scout. I was very impressed with them. They seem to be built very sturdy, have a very thin padding and you can mount it on an atv or a horse. Also no zippers to go bad, very minimalist. I have several of other cases but they were all very bulky and thick.

I have a 'real' rifle scabbard that I use(d) to carry my Mauser 257 Roberts carbine. The only marking is "STOCKMENS", it's brown cordura with a medium weight synthetic fabric liner, padded, a snap closed flap at the wrist of the rifle's stock, and has two nylon saddle straps. Not a full coverage as the ones above but a spiffy looking protective cover for the working parts of the rifle.
Far more protection than a leather saddle scabbard (boot).
