Has anyone replaced the factory stock on a 96/22 Magnum? Wondering if a stock for a 10/22 Magnum can be modified by removing material from the trigger cutout to accommodate the lever?

Thanks,

Steve

I have a 96/17 with an ugly and cracked factory stock. If you find a solution, I'd be interested in hearing about it. Maybe call the factory to see if they have any laying around somewhere?

AKray, I will. I replaced the factory stock on my Mini-30 with a Hogue overmolded and really like it. May put the same OM stock on my 10-22, but, with the after market butt pad on the factory stock the 10/22 feels so good. If I do that I will then take the 10/22 stock and try to modify it for the lever gun.

Good hunting to all this season,

I attempted to recut a 10-22 mag stock to fit a 96-22. I ran out of Dremel cutters and patience w/o finishing the job. Dimensionally, it is possible but tedious for a novice. I think I still have the project stock and would sell it cheap.
