I've got a 4-digit Super Blackhawk, '61 vintage. I'm thinking about having some custom work done on her. I'd like to get her reblued, the frame CCH (leaving the loading gate along in her plum color), a bead front sight and notch rear sight, and maybe shortening the barrel to 6".

Anyone care to share pics of a similar SBH?

Any other recommended mod? Brass frame? I've got great elk antler grips on her from our own Executioner. I thought about a caliber conversion, but .44 Mag gives me all I need and I've taken hogs and a black bear with her with no issues.

There's no way on this Earth I'd mess with perfection.
I had Ruger refinish mine....

A Brass Grip Frame could certainly add to the appeal. Shortening the barrel? Oh, my......they are so wonderfully balanced "as shipped".

JMHO,

flatgate - That's purty, but doesn't Ruger insist upon converting everything to the transfer bar safety that passes through their hands?

Yes, but if you keep the old parts you can put them back in when the gun comes back. :D

There are already lots of modified OM SBHs out there. FWIW I paid as much to have one done as one almost exactly like it cost me..
Hunt up one already modified and save some money and an original OM SBH.
