Replacing rear sight on a GP100

Williams fire sight rear sight for a GP-100...I just got a set of Williams fire sights for my GP 100...no sweat on the front sight installation but got a question on the rear...I'm older with marginal eyesight so would like to get it right and not chase little parts all over the floor...Looks to me like I remove the elevation screw and then tap out the tiny pin that holds the rear in place..correct? I work in a plastic bag so when little things fly apart I can at least keep them in the bag...now..are there some small springs located under the rear sight base? When installing the Williams rear fire sight what is the procedure? If there are springs under the factory sight do those springs then go under the williams sight? I've tried to contact Williams but they are just too busy to answer the phone and I'm tired of leaving messages...

Many thanks for any guidance on this..should be very simple but again...older and cautious..

take the pin out first, easier to control the removal then, with the elevation screw coming out ( up) no "surprises" ( should only be one ,may two small short springs under the sight body),,,a little tip ( trick) put a dab of gun grease on the springs to hold them in place when putting any rear sight back on the gun :wink:

+1 That's it, easy as PIE. The little springs are short and just sit there under the sight body. :D

Great info. I need to change the rear on my GP at some point but have not found the time or money to get to it. The original site is bummed up by original owner. If and when I get to it this will be nice to know.

A lot of the double-action and single-action Ruger revolvers all use that same rear sight. :D

I think Jimbo`s rite all revolver adjustable sites are the same EXCEPT the flat tops.
