Repeat repair from Ruger

Finally after waiting 4 weeks to get my SR9 back from Ruger for issues with light strikes I get to shoot it today. Its even worse that when I sent it to them. They replaced the sear spring and trigger bar. Before I was having light strikes about 2 every 100. First magazine I loaded I had 3 out of 17. Now I love my Rugers....thats why I have so many, but this being my carry gun I cant trust it. My question to you fine gentlemen is: The second time you send it into Ruger for the same repair, do they prioritize it or am I going to be out a pistol for another month? Also, do they pay for shipping the second time?

Out of curiosity, what kind of ammo are you using?

Call them and explain the situation. Call and ask to speak with Susan Maxwell. I warn you she can not be the most pleasant to deal with but she is head of customer service for auto pistol. Don't be nasty but be demanding and you will get taken care of.I have had issues with my SR9 it required multiple trips all were paid for. One thing I would try first is cleaning the striker channel and remove the magazine disconnect. My SR9 had a lot of heavy grease in the channel. I took the magazine disconnect out as to me it is just a unneeded part that is one more thing to go wrong. Wonder if the magazine disconnect could be poorly fitted and causing issues in your pistol. Easy enough to try and save sending off the gun and waiting.

As for ammo the gun should fire any commercially loaded ammo. Feeding issues and ejection can be problematic with different ammo but it all should go bang once it is in the chamber. I am thinking something slowing down the striker. As for the parts replaced trigger bar should have no bearing on the issue thinking it was replaced as it did not look right under inspection. As for the sear spring don't know what is being referred to as no such part is listed on the parts list.

Pistol has about 117 rounds through it since I had the firing pin out to clean. I had the mag disconnect out, but put it back in before I sent to ruger. It makes no difference in or out. Mostly reloads is what I'm shooting, however I ran a box of winchester white box and about 25 rounds of remington umc. Doesn't matter which brand, seems to happen with all of them. Ill try calling them and at least get free shipping out of them. I just don't get it.....I have over 11000 rounds through my p89 with no problems, why can't my sr9 run like that?

Light strikes were frustrating me too, with several different brands of ammo. I cleaned out and lightly lubed the strike pin chamber as many have suggested, still no joy. I installed a heavier striker spring and haven't had a failure to fire since. I don't have my records handy, but that was probably 2000 rounds ago at least. I forget where I ordered the spring off hand, but I found it through this forum.
