I've got a really sweet little drift rear sight Bisley Single Six I had Alan work over and ream out to .22 Magnum. It's actually the rare RB-22W variation to boot, and comes with letter from Ruger, but it was too tight to leave with the ugly 6.5" warning placard, so I sent it in to the doctor. I just bought a new FA 97 .22 Convertible, found a 1952 Smith Combat Masterpiece .22 in killer condition, and got a decent deal on an early 6 shot 4" SP101 in .22LR, so I'm thinning a bit. This gun shoots very well and will not disappoint. Cylinder gap is .003" from the factory, which is the reason I picked this one to go through. I had Alan cut it to 4 3/4 with Colt crown & remove warning label, install new steel ejector housing and screw, which is well fit, & Colt style base pin from Belt Mtn. Cylinder is free spun, Harton trigger job, original front target sight. Original Bisley roll marked cylinder re-chambered to .22 Magnum. Very nice clean gun with excellent grip frame to cylinder frame fit with no casting issues like many of the Bisleys from that era have. Very well fit factory set of walnuts, and I custom fit a grip spacer to frame thickness to insure grips don't get cracked & or warped from over-tightening. This gun was a dream gun to get worked over, as it was a very well fit and tight gun from the factory. Rear sight is tapped just a tad off center to left for dead on at 50 yards, and I do mean dead on. This one is a very good shooter, and is in excellent condition.

$1095 shipped takes it home.

Thanks,

Anybody got a good trade they wanna throw out before I put this one on Gunbroker? Custom revolvers? FAs?

I think Brian is right at 4 3/4". The ejector housing is flush for a 4 5/8 length barrel on Rugers.

It's actually just a hair under 4 3/4. The camera always gives a stretch appearance when taking pics angled toward one end or another. I like the look of the 4 3/4 barrel on Rugers, as the ejector housings are made to go just under flush on factory 4 5/8 guns, so the extra bit of barrel gives it a slightly different look. John Linebaugh builds his short guns at 4 3/4, which has always been a standard Colt length, and after having a few the look kinda grew on me. I'm seriously thinking about just keeping this one now, and just selling my new FA Model 97 I just got. My hand isn't adjusting to the Model 97 grip frame well.
