After watching Jeff's commentary on Gunblast and seeing how easy his shot, I've decided to give it a try. His is a 10", but I'm going to try a 7.5" simply because it'll pack and carry easier, especially when I've got the 686 in my hand walking the hills for chickens. Always bumping coyotes when I don't have anything but a 12 gauge on me. Looks like the 7.5" only gives up about 100 FPS in velocity to the 10", so it appears to be the right balance for what I'm after. I've been looking for an effective long range varmint revolver that won't take my ear drums out in the field, but can send a .224 caliber V-Max or similar bullet out in the 2000 FPS range. Looks like once I get some brass formed it should do the trick. I had a 97 in 45 Colt with a 3.5 barrel I got from Cubrock. I had it about an hour and decided I was an FA fan. I shot many an armadillo out the truck window with it, and it never once hurt my ears. All I can figure is it's a tight cylinder gap thing and I need another 97 in another caliber to help test my theory. I walked by Wayne Baker's set up at the Tulsa show a couple weeks ago, and he had a 7.5" 224-32 FA with ivory micarta, standard sights and round barrel there. Within a few days of handling it, and doing the research, I've decided to give it a try. I love my custom Ruger Bisley big bores, but for a medium sized small bore platform, I think these are the ticket, especially when they're perfect right out of the box. They're a cross between a Swiss watch and a brick s#!t house. They're hell for stout, and exceptionally well made from the best materials out there. Only thing I'd change is the action to a silent free spin if I could.

GB69 - no intention of derailing your thread but, speaking of chamberings, have you researched/compared performance of the 224-32 FA with the .256 Win Mag (say, out of a Ruger Hawkeye)? I'm guessing the 224-32 FA is a bit faster and flatter, slightly less energy, but similar noise?
Nope. I don't care what a .257 caliber is doing. I want to run a .224 diameter 40 grain V-Vax as hot as I can accurately without taking my ear drums out. Looks to me like this little 224-32 FA round from a 7.5" barrel puts any 22 Mag rifle out there to shame. We shall see 
Got a few guys interested and putting orders together. I encourage everyone on here in the market for a new FA to contact me for a quote. All Premier Grade firearms from FA carry a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser. Field grade firearms carry a 1 year warranty. We don't have to have the order in by the end of the year, or even all at once to get the mass discount, but anyone who doesn't want in on the 6% price increase coming January 1st 2015 will want to get their order in before the end of the year

I'll post it tomorrow when I find out.

It looks like it's me, you and, I think, GB69 (so far), HW11! Maybe we'll be surprised with an early Christmas gift next year (+/-). For me, it will be like Christmas no matter what time it arrives!
With the deal being offered here, I'm surprised there are not more of us -- and, GB69 is tops to work with in my book.

The 5th order went in yesterday and the 6th has been placed with me & will be turned in with FA Monday with several more pending at the moment. I'm now considering a .22 convertible just like my .224-32 FA I ordered last month, but with ebony micarta instead of the ivory so it'll at least look a little different
It really would be nice to have a long range tack driving .22 revolver that comes that way fresh out of the box instead of having to have it gone through. It's only money :roll:
