Any thoughts regarding this gun? My LGS has a "used" (never shot) for what seems like a very good price. $625. I've been a Ruger guy, but not afraid of a different manufacturer. Thoughts??? Thnx!

I've seen plenty of new R1's for low as $550, $625 for LNIB is on the high side, not really a good deal but still within reason long as the paper work and everything it came with is in the box, personally I wouldn't pay more than $500

I agree with 6gun on price. They are very nice guns, But that price is what I paid for my SR1911 new. I am partial to the Ruger offering myself.

That is a good price for the R1 enhanced. If it is set up the way you want it, without wanting to change it buy it. I would take the R1 enhanced over a SR1911. The MSRP on the enhance is $940, over $100 more than the Ruger.

WOW! That front sight looks like a good rake to tear up holsters.

Thnx for the input, it is an "Enhanced" version of the R1.
I was thinking the same thing r/e the frt. sight. I could comb what little hair I have left with that.

Don't know about the price but I have a magazine around here somewhere with an article about the R1. The guy that wrote the article did not get the 3 guns he tested from Remington but from other sources. He averaged less than 2 inch groups off a rest at 25 yards with several different types of ammo. One of the autos grouped a little over an inch at 25 yards. He did not cull out any groups so with several different loads and 3 different autos that is impressive. He didn't have anything negative to say about them and emphasized that Remington didn't send him 3 hand picked pistols.

I have an R1 Enhanced.
It shoots good. Is accurate and so far will shoot anything I put in it.
I can't find anything negative about it.
Some people don't like the fact that it has the firing pin block in it whereas the Ruger does not.

CDNN sports sent me their email add the have the blue enhanced for $699.88 and the stainless for $749.99, both finishes are under in the un-enhanced are under $600.
