Hey guys, I have a red eagle post model. serial # 175 +++ I believe it to be from 1959. Its a very clean piece. I was wondering what this would be worth.?

update...
Ok - I do realize this isnt a red eagle. When I bought it I thought I was buying a red eagle, but later after I looked up the serial number I found out I was mistaken. Im wanting to find out if the grips are original red eagle grips, They dont appear to be newer grips, and I dont believe someone painted the eagle. There is silver or chrome under the red and not black. also the gripse are solid and not a " hollow" grip like the newer ones are. I wanting to know if there is a good way to tell if they are original red eagle grips. I will more than likely sell this gun since it isnt what I thought I was buying but want to represent this correctly before I do so.. thanks.

If you're referring to the autoloading pistol, the serial number is way too high for a red eagle. Without looking it up, I believe the eagle turned black after 1951. Somebody may have swapped grips at some time in the past.

If you have an honest pair of red eagle grips in very good shape, the grip panels are probably worth more than the gun.

If the pistol is a standard, the condition would dictate the price... $300 - $350 for one that's absolutely perfect, and down from there.

So how do you know if the grips are real on these pistols?Hate to sound dumb but tryin to educate myself. What do you look for to tell if you have an honest pair of red eagle grips?

+1 with 06ackley. How would you be able to identify if the grips are real.?

There are a couple of variations of Red Eagle grip panels. On the originals,, only one panel had a red eagle medallion.
Pictures would be the best thing to use to help identify the grips.
Beware,, counterfeits have been made.

Contender- I emailed you a few pictures. Im not sure how to post them on here. If you get a chance to look them over let me know what you think. thanks.!!

the make up the grip panels, the material they are made out of and the type of medallion that is in them, as well as the COLOR of the "red" medallions....(that late of a gun is NOT in any way ,shape or form, condsidered a "red eagle")........just a standard auto that someone colored or replaced the grip panel with a 'red' one...........
as to them being "real" any of the .22 auto collectors could tell at a glance if they are "correct" or not for the MOST part.........

I got the pics,, and while they are good,, they are not quite the best. It's very possible they are real,,,, and someone swapped out newer grips off that gun in favor for an older red eagle set. If we had them in hand,, it'd be easier. As dan as eluded to,, the color and the other things I mentioned in my response to your email are important.
If you sell them,, allow a buyer a 3 day inspection. to be fair to everyone.
