Winchester has determined the above lots of 22 Long Rifle ammunition may contain incorrect powder charges. Ammunition with excessive powder charges may cause firearm damage, rendering the firearm inoperable and subjecting the shooter and bystanders to a risk of serious personal injury.

I have 3 or 4 bricks of this stuff will have to go check.

I wonder how much of an overcharge it would take to actually damage a modern .22LR.

I had one round years ago blow the back out of a .22 LR in my 1022, Case stayed in the chamber and the gun tried to cycle another round. I was actually able to get the case out and continued to shoot the rest the brick of Federal Lightings.

Winchester M-22 has always been junk.
Everyone I know that has ever used it had problems with it.
The biggest problem was failure to fire.
I will say it again.
Winchester M-22 has always been junk.
