Hard to say from photos tho it is possible. Lotta of crud on it could be packing grease. ps

Kinda looks like a reblue, could be wrong, quite often am....
JMHO,,,I think she is original,,,sitting here with a Hi-Polish gun, just like it that I know is original.

That is TYPICAL of the so called 'high polish' guns of the era, and to me , it is 'correct' based mostly on the picture (view) of the inside of the guns frame, the recoil shield , the area where the firing pin hole is located, there is NO "over polishing or recutting of this ars and is as it comes on the original guns.......those 'high polish' guns are NOT looked at favorably by most of the gunsmiths and folks in the "bluing" business, nowhere as nice or proper as a Colt or a S&W would be........it is what it is, and a very "subjective" issue, mostly on whether one is the buyer or the seller...ALL guns have a 'story' to tell :wink:
let me add, that ONE way to check and get a better idea if its "factory original finish" is when you take off (remove) the guns steel grip frame, there should be "white" ( bare metal) showing on the two "mating "
parts, inside and out of sight from the outside....this is casued by the gun being polished out ( finish polish) by the factory (Ruger) as a "unit" the frame and the cylinder fame are polished together as ONE PIECE, and blued this way...the bluing salts do NOT get all the way into the "space", it will leach in a bit from the outside edges,but NOT blue the inner most section, so will appear to be , and actually is, "bare metal"...MOST gun shops and firearms refinishers blue all the parts separately, to do the job RIGHT, so it will be "blued" and very DARK , on these inside sections of the grip and cylinder frames....... 8)

I would agree that it is original finish.....80 prefix supers have some incredible polished finish.....I like the fact that the firing pin bushing is in the white.....seems they blued the gun then installed the firing pins later.....JMO....YMMV...RR.

I also think it's original, because the finish is identical to my 1972 vintage Mark I, which is original.

My 1971 SBH had a MUCH higher polish and MUCH nicer finish as compared to the new ones. I think this is original, but, I also had a 50's MK! factory reblued in late 70's ( for $15!!!) and it came back with a MUCH nicer polish job than the original, so......
For $487 I'd say someone got a pretty darn good deal!

Too bad you missed that one. I'm also convinced it's original finish for the reasons mentioned above but also:
1. the front end boss of the cylinder is in the white
2. and the alloy parts have the old style anodizing which they didn't refinish with; alloy parts are refinsished with the new sprayed and baked finish like the new guns have.
