Checked other smithing entries and see some people are using the 5 degree reamer and others are using the 11 degree reamers to clean up Ruger forcing cones. I always heard the 11 degree reamer gave the best accuracy and overall results for all revolvers. Was the stock angle 5 degrees? The 11 degree looks more gradual not like the short, blunt 5 degree. I plan to use the 11 degree reamer and wondered if it would completely cleanup the forcing cones. I also have the Brownells forcing cone guages to check results. Thanks for advice.

I used the 11 degree cutter on mine. I never could quite get that plug gauge to read like I "wanted" it to. Just cut slowly and use plenty of oil. Stop as soon as the original cone is cut away and there is no compound angle(original 5 degree stepping into your new 11 degree)
