I was wondering, is there a procedure that needs to be used to bore sight in a rifle?

There's a couple of methods to bore sight a rifle. Laser attachments that go in or on the barrel, a collomitor (sp) or the easiest method (if you can remove the bolt) is to set the rifle on sandbags so when you look through the barrel from the rear it is pointed at a target. Then adjust the scope so it is looking at the same target. That usually gets me on paper and I don't have to worry about forgetting to take the laser out of the barrel before firing a shot. ;) Hope that helps; Mike

Works good for me.

It works for me too. When I had younger eyes I could do it in one step at 100yds., but now I start at 50yds.
