Quick range report

I picked up a new SR 1911 yesterday afternoon, after draggin a rag thru the barrel and looking for any left over cuttings which could cause damage I headed to the range this morning and found they were setting up for a match, which turned this into a hurried affair.
I used the 2 Ruger mags,2 Colt mags,1 Wilson Combat,1 8 round cmc and a 10 round cmc, ammunition was a mix of 230 gr xtp (handloads) and 230m gr ball (factory and handloads). I shot at 10 yards with a few slow fire with very good accuracy with both handloads and factory then it pretty much turned into a mag dump as time was closing in on me. :lol:
I didn't notice the trigger (so its fine) no failures of any type with any mag and the slide locked back after the last shot with all mags, I didn't get hit with any brass (also a good thing) and and the expended brass landed where it should, very consistant. I like the gun and seem to get the same accuracy I get with anything else I use.

Sounds like your SR1911 does like mine,it shoots very well.Me,my wife,my stepson and stepdaughter punch the hell out of the red in Caldwell targets,without adjusting the sights.

I would say those paper plates are dead. I love paper plates. I have spent money on buying targets with all the fancy markings and shapes, and still prefer the white paper plates. They are the easiest to see where your hitting. Even better than those Shoot-N-C targets. They are really good when shooting my AR15. That little .223 caliber hole shows up great.

Yup, I'm big on paper plates, too. There's always a stack sitting on top of the refrigerator, so I'm never out of targets. I stick a small piece of blue masking tape in the center for a bull, and have at it. Super cheap, too. Sorry it's not my Ruger, but...
