I wonder why individuals post items for sale and then will not answer an inquiry abut the item. I questioned a seller about one of his items and waited 4 days for a reply. None arrived. OK, I figure I may have done something wrong (what I couldn't know as I received my CC copy) so I sent the question to him/her (it is a store so I don't know the sex) again. I again waited and waited and still no reply. I went to the Gunbroker site and checked and guess what. If you question someone and get no answer there is nothing they at Gunbroker can or will do.

Lots of the big sellers on gunbroker have so many items listed they can't or don't want to answer all the questions they are ask.
If they won't answer a question then it makes you wonder how they would handle a return or problem with something you purchased from them.

I have a simple answer, if they don't have the time to answer a question, then I don't have the time or inclination to buy something from them. In fact it sounds to me like a good way to prove the seller... ask them a question about the item.

I recently purchased a 1957 Colt Huntsman for the buy it now price on Gunbroker. It was expensive but I had saved enough mad money and the pistol was mint. Anyways, it was advertised as having 2 magazines. When my FFL guy received it there was only one magazine. We both checked all of the packaging twice but there was no 2nd magazine. I contacted the seller 3 times before he finally replied over a week later and said that his employee had sold the 2nd magazine without his knowledge and that he'd send me a check for a little over $40 to cover a "new" magazine. I told him that I figured that something like that happened and I would bet the 2nd magazine was an original as was the one with the pistol and that they sell for at least double what he was sending me for a replacement. Of course he wouldn't admit to the sold magazine being an original and I had no proof that it was so all I could do was accept the USPS M.O. I asked him to send. I gave him a low rating on Gunbroker but as mentioned there is nothing they could do. I haven't received the M.O. yet, my fingers are crossed. Very frustrating to say the least.

.

The REAL customers of online auctions (like GB, GA, etc)) are the sellers, which is the source of the auction's sales commissions - and not the buyers (who pay no commission).

Guess who comes first ?

You could have rejected the item as not being representative of what you bid on. I would have done that and opened a case up with gunbroker. They sold you something you did not receive. Regardless if it was original or not, you bid on a gun and 2 mags and he knowingly did not ship you that.

Let the buyer be ware. If they don't respond don't buy. That said guys that sell on here are the way to go most also sell on gunbroker.

The sellers are not what they were years ago, for the past 2 years I no longer trust them so I don't buy over any of the gun forums.
Got burnt 3 times over the past 2 years.

No answer is an answer, I am not being a smart aleck here, but the seller is derelict. So, is the merchandise any good? That would be my questioning, and I would move on.

I recently ran into a situation (and have in the past) where it's a gun shop/pawn shop selling the stuff. But it's done by one employee in the shop, who only pays any attention to it on the days he works. So there was large delays in communication. I never got any response to emails sent through gun broker. Only to those directly to the person listed in the sale contact info at the end of the auction. And then like I said, with some delay.

key issue my friend...gb isn't about small guys selling who care about you anymore. that left about 15 years ago.

This seller has 466 reviews so he has been doing business there for a while. Just for S&Gs, I sent him/her a third question early yesterday (Monday) that was a twoparter just to see if I would get any answer to either of the questions. I am still waiting.
