Question regarding old Ruger Catalogs

I've been downsizing my accumulated gun paraphernalia and found that I've been accumulating many Ruger catalogs from the 1970's and 1980's. What is your opinion on the value of these catalogs before I list them and attempt to sell on eBay or should I just scrap them. Have at least a dozen or more. Thoughts?

Probably not worth the trouble trying to sell then. I got some also I look at it
this way they do not take up much room. I do not believe there is a whole lot
of value to them. I may be wrong! ps

And of course the other side is that serious collectors will really like to have those. This comes up frequently. Unless you care to offer them up "per each" for a few bucks it might be quicker and easier to offer them all as a package. I think there's another thread here on this subject. I'll look.

That's what I'd do . . .package deal, all in one, in the Classifieds. Offering details of year, etc, would help.

Those catalogs are valuable . I buy them some time at gun auctions , they usually bring good money .

I wouldn't say "valuable" overall although there are some variations that do command more than others. I figure $5 each for the common ones but even then, often you gotta make it a package. Have LOTS here just boxed.

I have more catalogues than my family will ever know what to do with when I check out. Some of them are worth a few bucks, some are worth a few cents. But they've always been priceless to me.

In my much younger days, when I could afford precious few firearms, I used to dwell over these catalogues, over and over, as well as Shooters Bibles and Gun Digests. I learned so much, just by reading about what I couldn't afford. And after many years, when I have a question about a certain model of firearm, I can still open up these old catalogues and publications.

So when somebody finds these old catalogues, if they haven't studied them over the years, I would hope they'd study them now. We have a legacy in sharing the history of so much of our hobby. Skip one generation and it'll be forever gone.

As a collector,, I hate seeing stuff thrown away,, just because someone thinks it's not valuable. It may not be worth a whole lot,, TO YOU,, but to a collector,, or especially a budding collector,, it is valuable.

I view catalogs & price sheets & other such factory stuff as a hard data bank of the company history. I collect it,, and store it. I use them for references, & to answer questions for others.

And I've even had a Ruger executive employee ask me for information FROM THEIR OWN HISTORY, in printed material, as the factory didn't have what he wanted.

Trash it? HELL NO!!!!!!

If nothing else,, offer it up as a "Karma!" Give it away,, or as suggested,, put them all together as a group & sell them.

I've bought several on eBay that went with the guns I had. I want to say they were 5 to 10 dollars each. Either sell them or give them to someone that understands the history and will appreciate them.

I have all the catalogs from 1986 until 2010, 10 was the last printed catalog . I now download and save the catalogs . If you have any pre 86 I am interested . They are great for a reference . !

Uhh,, Ruger still prints SOME catalogs. You have to attend a trade show,,, to get one. SHOT, NRA, etc where Ruger has a booth.
I have almost all variations in english from the very first up to 2020.
