I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 handheld phone/email/ computer/whatever they are called. I want to know how I can download photos from the device to my PC and place them in my album. Any and all help is appreciated.

With my iPhone, I download to my Macbook Pro by attaching the phone charging cord to the computer and following the instructions that come up to download.

The easiest way is to use your charging chord [at least that works on the older Samsung models]. It should unplug from your converter that plugs in the wall outlet. One end of the chord plugs into your smart phone and the the other should be a USB male plug that will plug into your USB ports on your computer.

Now open up your File Explorer on your computer. If you're new to this it may take you a little thinking to figure it out and get the hang of it, but it will be well worth your time and effort to do just that 'cause it'll come in real handy as time goes on.

In the File Explorer you will be able to see all the files on both your computer and on your Samsung. You can drag your files [pictures] [copy them, don't move them there] to your Samsung.

Before you do that I would highly recommend you get an SD Card installed in your Samsung ... and store any files you bring over from your computer on the SD Card instead of on the Samsung per se. SD Cards are very economical and if/when your Samsung dies you won't lose anything you have on the SD Card. All you would need to do is remove the SD card and put in your new smart phone. Actually, most computers you buy today will have an SD slot and will be able to read your SD Card which means the transferring of files becomes even easier! Just slip the SD Card into the SD slot on your computer, open your File Explorer, and drag and drop to your heart's content. Just remember to reinsert the SD Card into the Samsung when you're don't dragging.

Hope that help's ya ...

Tried that and all that came up was I had a 58% charge indicator.

It appears to me you need hands on personal assistance with your newfangled gadget. We've all been there and done that at one point in our lives.

Or get a photobucket account, they'll almost automatically upload there when you open photobucket on your phone, then download from photobucket.

At which point you have indirectly "shared" ALL of your photos with
the world AND added information to their data mining operation.

SD card is the easiest, second easiest is to get/have a gmail address
and then "share" the photo with it (send it to your regular E-mail addr.)

You can set up photobucket so it's private. Not much to it.

Probably nothing in any Photobucket account to be worth the time and trouble to hack.... but if you believe it's "private", I have a bridge for sale in Brooklyn.

Did the phone come with instructions? Usually the basics are covered there. If not, a trip to your phone store will have them walking you through it.
I use the easy route. Open photo bucket app, chose the photos and they all automatically upload to my account. Done.

This is what I used and it works just fine for what I needed. Thanks to all for all the helpful suggestions. When I am not in too much of a hurry I'll attempt some of the other methods.

A trusted teenager or young adult usually works best for me. Just be sure and watch them closely the first time. They don't like to show you twice!!

I have the same ?'s as Frank. I have a Samsung S7. How would I get them from a Photobucket app on my phone to my personal computer where all my pics are stored, on Photobucket, that I post on the RF?

Right click on picture on photobucket, click on the menu item "save picture as" and click okay.

When you plug your USB cable into your PC does it pop up with a menu asking you what you want to do. If so and you see no photo folders ie DCIM, Then you may have to go to your Phone and select how you want the USP cable to act. Default is Charging, tow other file download options should be available. Photos or Files. Once selected your PC will allow you to see the DCIM folder and Picture or video files.

This is based on my Samsung S6 Phone.

I finally broke down and got a smart phone because it was a flat $200. The main reason I did it was because on my old flip phone I couldn't get pics from it to my computer.

Anyway, I got an IPhone 5S. I can either plug it into my USB port with the charging cable or just email the pics from my phone to my computer. So everything I needed to find out was available on the net.

You'll probably find out anything you need to know on the net, even tutorials with pictures. Just Google "How do I (xxxxxxxxxx) on my (phone & model). There are step by step tutorials on there.
