7 mags are good rounds, however the used gun racks are bckloged with them in the shops I frequent. I'm not that knowledgeable on plastic stocks (did own one for a time back in the mid eighties,) but the ammo has to be worth close to 100 retail. That leaves 300 for the rig. Seems OK to me. I gave a former S-I-L a Rem 700 Classic in said caliber topped w/a Leupold 2.5-8 about 20 years ago. He uses it for everything from coyotes to elk and is his "truck gun." He looks for end of season close out prices on factory ammo at the big box stores in west Texas, and uses a custom loader for lighter bullets. They are good all round calibers, just a little out of fashion these days of the short cartridges. Good day, Jack
