Anyone here like the Lee perfect powder measure. And do any of you just use home made dippers and rake the top off. I have made several in the past. Just made one that gives me 8.3 gr of unique if I dip and have a heaped up dipper full and drag the top of the heap off with a buisness card.Made from empty casing.

I have used the Lee powder dippers over the years with satisfaction. I never felt the need to make others. I have never used any Lee powder measure, but I have an RCBS, Redding, and a whole slew of Lyman #55s.

I’d love to see a picture of that if you could post one. Sounds interesting.

Here ya go. Small wood dowel for handle and a brass rod from old 22lr cleaning kit.

I love those homemade dippers!
I have a Lee perfect powder measure. Been very happy with it. I have 2 holes on the front edge of my small loading bench (no, there isn’t a large one) next to a single press, and install it there when doing the powder stage. I keep the screws in the holes when not using it. It’s quick, and seems quite accurate. I check the first 2 or 3 on the scale, then every 5th or 10th one, depending on what I’m reloading. When I see variation, it’s only .1 of a grain.

The Perfect is all I use.

I use the Lee perfect. With a bit of finesse on your part it is excellent. I write down my settings for powder charges and they usually end up very close to where I want. I figured out a fill level sweet spot for several powders. Herco, red dot, w231, longshot, power pistol, titegroup, bullseye all run reasonably well. I move the crank the same way every time. Faster or slower, more or less jerky will affect it.

I made dippers but found that the Lee set gets me where I need to be, if not my vibrating trickler will get there.
