I don't listen to the radio much, and when I do, I'm usually in my SUV. I was driving yesterday when the song "Somewhere, my Love" played. Brought back many memories.

Somewhere around the late 'Forties or early "Fifties, that song was a hit song on the radio, among the top on the Hit Parade.

One of my early memories of TV was the series "Victory At Sea." That song was the background music when scenes of rear area commands were shown in the South Pacific. That series had a tremendous musical score, by Dimitri Tiomkin, as I recall.

Later it was the theme song for the movie "Dr. Zhivago, but now known as "Laura's Theme." One of the last movies Nita and I saw in a theater was Dr. Zhivago.

Addenda: It was not Dimitri Tiomkin but rather Richard Rogers who was responsible for the musical score. Tiomkin is better know for "High Noon."
