I am looking for recommendations for a standard pin punch set that can be used for both handguns and rifles but covers what a normal range of sizes that would be needed. My weapon list is found in my signature.

Cost is always a factor but I am looking for a mid-range quality since I am not a gunsmith but I don't mind paying a few extra dollars to get something that I can use more than a few times.

I do general cleaning and I have made some cursory mods to my AR and the 870 but I not afraid to intelligently dig into the guts of a particular weapon.

Go to the Brownells website, they have several selections of punches. Think of some of these as a lifetime investment. I like the Starrett ones, good quality. Eventually you'll wnat roll pin punches, and they sell a set specific to the AR's

By cheap tools and buy them again and again, invent in quality tools an buy them once. Lesson spoken by my Dad, and it took hard headed me a while to learn :D

I bought Chinese, then I bought Craftsman. The Craftsman have served me well, and they're not mega-expensive.

I have a set of Starett's that I got from Brownell's. I forgot what I paid, but they are great and will outlast me.

I use them every time I work on guns, except for my Ruger New Models, which require brass for the hammer and trigger pivots.
