Picked up a MK I Target

Recently picked this one up for what I thought was a great price. It was mfg. in 1958, and considering it is a couple years older than I am, it is in pretty good shape. (sorry for the blurry phone pic, can't find the camera tonight)



I am AMAZED at how this one shoots. It just don't miss! About 300 rounds of cheap bulk ammo, and no malfunctions at all. I had two standards that I gave to my sons several years ago, and Dad needed one of his own.

Very nice catch. The gun looks to be in great shape, 50+ years old and still a beauty.

These guns will be passed on to our great grand kids and still great fun.

The gun shop that had this one also had a lot of new MK III's, and I think they must have just thought of this as an "old 22". This shop is sure not known for good buys, and I rarely go in there at all. I actually expected something to be wrong with it and really did not care as I did not have much $$$ invested. I have been pleasantly surprised to say the least.

As I said I have two sons, one at home and one in U.S. Army. My younger son has his Standard hanging in a holster on his bed post. I was recently looking for my "Soldier's" gun in my safe and could not find it. Turns out he took it back with him after his last leave. He is using it to teach his girl friend how to shoot a handgun. I think rsi705 is right. These will be in the family for a long time.
