personalizing a 1022 compact

Plans are to give my two young cousins 1022's as soon as they get a little more mature. I was thinking about having the stocks engraved with their monogram. I'm thinking on the forearm so that it is visible in a gun cabinet. I would appreciate any opions

I think they will be very happy. Someone in classifieds is selling lazer engraved bolts for 10/22's. Their site shows that you can have custom engraving done as well. Might be something to check out.

I deal with the local "T shirt printer, Trophey shop" on several items and we talked about him doing it.

I have a carbine I was going to use to see how it looks, before I do thiers. My plans are to take mine tommorrow and see

I got one of these quite a while back with my son's name on it. Was a surprise for him on his first "all his choice" build. Results were a huge smile. Still shows pride when he sees it.

It is not hard to carve initials, practice on some scrap wood. I like the idea, of the monograms on the forend so you can see them in the safe. I am thinking of buying the youth sized Henry lever gun for my boy. Ed

the Trophey Shop thinks laser will look better than engraving. However, they are in a rush to get out graduation plaques so It may be a week or two. They suggestest "American Text" which is a fancy script. I hope the detail comes out good. I'll post pics
