Been thinking about putting a partridge style front sight on my SS Bisley 45. Who makes these? Thanks.

Just for purposes of discussion, it's Patridge.
Good luck with it.

Again- the correct term is Patridge & has never been Partridge.

If we're going to insist on people using the right verbiage between clip & magazine, the same effort should be applied toward spreading incorrect terminology for sights.

The problem is spell check changes patridge to partridge. We know what they intended to write about.

I see that mis-spelling often enough to never automatically attribute it to any form of spell-checker.
If that's what it was in both cases, fine.
Otherwise, needs to be pointed out.

"Patridge style" gets attributed to undercut post sights with a rectangular cross section (squared corners on a tall rectangle as viewed from rear), but E.E. Patridge's design simply referred to a rectangular cross-section front post with a squared notch rear sight. The original sight was a simple rectangular blade (as viewed from the side), then modifications followed to include undercut posts meant for target shooting, as this prevents glare on the rear of the blade, and a ramped post for holster carry sights. Technically, all of the above are "patridge" sights. An undercut Patridge sight is really a "patridge target style" sight post.

Since it's a stainless Bisley, it's pretty simple to find makers. Anyone with some bar stock and a file can make a replacement blade for a Bisley. I'd call a few local smiths and see what they'd charge to do so. Any of the big name smiths Hondo mentioned will likely be able to provide as well, but it's pretty easy to just throw a blade together. You could do so yourself, run down to home depot and buy a length of 1/8" x 3/4" bar stock, a hacksaw, and a triangular file. Within a couple hours, you'd have a sight blade ready to black/blue.

Also, the link for John Gallagher is dead. I understand he's way too busy to devote time to a website.
