I have a custom job that I decided to fabricate a front sight for.
Just because the number of variables and the inability for me to try out different things to find out if they work or not.
So I'm going to just make a sight, because it's easier than going through the hassles of buying and returning different things til I find something that fits right.
I called Ruger and they acted like I was being unreasonable to ask what the height of their sight is for a custom application... In other words, the info isn't printed in their specs, and it isn't in their job description to measure things to find info for customers.
Anyhow, I want to fabricate something and I'm going to want it blacked out with something tougher than flat black paint.
It's going to be steel, so I could parkerize it or blue it
Either way I'll have to get the chemicals.
Any opinions on this?
Also - don't hesitate to mention good sources for information on the subject, such as instructional videos etc
Or sources for materials

Thanks in advance
