I've recently purchased a KP95PR and had a really fantastic time dropping 100 rounds out of it at the local range. I made sure to clean it before going and didn't notice anything unusual (well, OK, I limp wristed it a couple times to get a FTE, but I digress). After getting back home and cleaning it, I've noticed that the hammer seems to not quite go all the way back when I pull the trigger, like it's caught on something (or the trigger is). When the hammer is cocked, it's a piece of pie. But in DA, the hammer doesn't seem to go all the way back (and no boom afterwards).

Any thoughts? I've inspected the trigger and hammer mechanisms and recleaned/reoiled them just to be sure.

Are you testing the gun after it's been fully reassembled, or are you doing it with the slide/barrel still off the frame?

What you're describing can happen when the slide/barrel haven't been reinstalled even in a normally functioning pistol.

Are you sure the ejector is back in place as it should be?

I would feild strip and look around a bit and put back together and try it again. Something might be just hung for a second.

Post results.

Ejector was in the right place, but there was a spot I had missed during my cleaning.

After cleaning there and reoiling the gun, I put 300 rounds through it at the range this morning. Expensive, but it felt great and the gun didn't even blink, even with the cheap Federal FMJ ammo I used.

Note to future self: CLEAN EVERYWHERE.

Thanks for the tips.

What you circled is the extractor. It does nothing but pull the fired case out of the barrel as the slide cycles.

I don't see how that would effect the hammer but glad you got it working.

That is exactly what I was getting ready to post before I scrolled all the way down and saw that roylt had beaten me to it.
