P95's are everywhere around here, in both flavors. I sincerely hope they don't discontinue it, the P95 still sells really well. If Ruger drops it then they hand over the entire inexpensive name brand auto pistol market to the S&W Sigma and SD.
Sounds to me like the folks at your gun shop don't really want to sell you a ruger....
a few years back I was browsing in a local small time gun shop and struck up a conversation with the owner and told him I was interested in a Ruger PC9 and had he ever seen a used one... his answer was no but if I wanted a new one he could accommodate me.... I had a PC9 in three days.

According to Ruger's website they sold over a million guns this year. I imagine there Prescott factory is having trouble keeping up. The US Army purchased a lot of P95s for their tank crews so I doubt Ruger would stop production. For the price anyone can get one so I imagine a lot of them are sold.
Well that sucks . . . I was hoping the U.S. forces could see the value in the P95. It is good to know that was just a rumor. It almost makes me unhappy to think Iraq's army will have these in their hands and really unhappy that a faithful Ruger may one day shoot an American soldier.
More waste of US Tax Payers money IMO..
They should be giving them some scrap Helwan 9mms etc.
The Dude, I saw a pebbled P95DC in blued on Gunbroker that starts @ $299 with the rail.. I also saw a $100 stainless demilled kit on there as well.. BUT?
I love the looks of that Target Grey SP101 you have in the Classifieds if only I had the dough & lived close enough to swing bye & pick that jem up..
I remember reading an American Rifleman article a few years ago which stated that the U.S. Army Tank Command P95's were blued DAO models. This was right before they went to the pebbled grip/accessory rail version.
