Hey, Joined up here cause im having some issues with my P95. Love shooting the gun, when it works.

I have taken the gun down and cleaned it from head to toe. Took it to the range after work fired three rounds and right back to its old habits. I have tried it with Blazer brass cased 9mm and Winchester jacketed ammo along with a 124grn Truncated Cone(bhn 15) Lead cast bullet over 4.4 grns of Unique.

The Springs have been oiled and checked repeatedly by me and other gun nuts. I have had three other people shoot the gun, just in case i was limp wristing it. All the moving area's have been oiled and checked for debris and flashing. I called Ruger and they just say send the gun in. Anything I can try before sending it in?

Thanks Joe

This is what the gun does just about every round.

I've read posts where people having this problem claim taking the extractor out and bending it a bit more has taken care of it. Sending it back to Ruger is the best bet if you can stand being without it for awhile but I'd try bending it first. If you do a search I'm sure you'll find more information on it.

If it FTEs almost every round how can he stand to be WITH it? It's useless as is. :?

Joe, you say it's right back to it's old habits...it's done this since you got it? Send it back and have Ruger make it right. P95s have the rep of being reliable as a brick.

Yes, it has done ever since i ran the second box of factory new ammo through it. I took it back to the dealer where i bought it and he just said its ruger's problem now. Needless to say but I won't be going back to him.

I don't think bending a precision made firearm is the answer here, but I agree there is something jacked with the extractor.
I guess i'll let ruger deal with it unless i can find an extractor on the cheap, then i'll do it myself. Thanks Guys!

The slide is a bit of a chinese puzzle to take apart and reassemble. There's a good thread about it somewhere on here if you want to give it a go. Let Ruger fix it then shoot the snot out of it.

The extractor is holding the case as pictured but what does the ejector look like? Maybe it is bent? Post a pick of the frame with the slide off and the ejector up in normal postion.

As for the extractor it just pops out of the slot. Look at the 89 disassembly manual by Berretapistols.

I meant instead of trying to fix the problem first. Sorry for not being more clear.

I'd say the *ejector* is missing or bent. The extractor is the claw on the side of the slide that pulls the brass out of the chamber by the rim. As we can see, the brass extracted, but did not eject. The *ejector* is in the frame of the gun, and is a simple metal tab that extrudes forward of the breach face. I have a P94, which i think is similar, in which case the ejector is on the piece of metal you have to flip down before you can disassemble the pistol.

The extractor pulls the brass out of the chamber (quickly) and the ejector tab hits the back of the brass in just the right spot to make it fling out of the ejection port and into your buddy's face at the firing line.

Let's see a picture of the inside of the pistol's frame.
