P95 ammo

Can anyone recommend good range ammo for a 9mm P95? I am currently using walmarts Federal 115 grain FMJ and was thinking of switching to a heavier grain. I did the same with my 357 SP101 that is switching to a heavier grain and found that my shooting and groupings were a lot more accurate. Just wondering if the same would work for my P95?

I don't have a P95 but it seems that all the P guns use anything you can buy. Grab a box and see what happens.

I use Winchester Ranger 124gr FMJ that I bought at: www.ammunitiontogo.com/index.php/cName/9mm-fmj-ammo It shoots great out of my P95 and is probably the best 9mm FMJ ammo available right now. Stock up while you can as it's not always available.

Great for the range not so good for defense use.

Your last 30 rounds should be your defensive rounds...it tests the ability of the gun to reliably feed the defense round and I believe sets your muscle memory for the last things shot...this is my belief, opinions will vary.

chances are good it wasn't simply that the bullet weighs more that made your SP101 more accurate, but just that your gun likes that round (primer, powder type/weight and bullet) better... all guns will perform differently with different ammo,Thats why gun mags always test as many different ammos as they can in a gun they review... One type of ammo may group 3", while another may group 1.5", and they may group opposite in the next gun off the assembly line.... so changing ammo may indeed make your gun more accurate, but dont think that just changing to a heavier bullet will do it. It might, and it might not. You may have to try several different ammos and weights to find what your gun likes best.

I am very pleased with the performance of both 115gr Winchester FMC and Remington JHP bulk 9mm from Wal-Mart. They are accurate, reliable, good value, and shoot to the same point of aim in my P95.

It's a compromise... cheap (usually full metal jacket) ammo vs something that is more accurate. I suppose it won't hurt to try heavier stuff...

my ammo of choice is Georgia Arms. 115gr fmj. You can buy it in bulk and you get a 'free' ammo can in the bargain.
