I recently found myself wishing to pack my P90 , and my origional interm holster was terminally hiding from me. So I grabbed the 'crackberry , and started Googling for inexpensive interm holsters.
Ordered a Fobus RU97 from Amazon. I was kinda going out on a limb. If one is available for your gun , the Uncle Mike Kydex is an exponentially better holster for similar price. The top three beefs about Fobus : flimsy material that doesn't last , and will spontainously selfdestruct. Not very concealable, particularly the Roto's . And they are overly generous is their fitment charts , in that they claim a long list of pistols will fit , when they really don't . The last two vary widely from holster to holster.
It arrived , and I was peasantly surprised. The P90 fit snugly w/o rattling , and released with apprite tug. The slide extended 1/8 inch beyond the bottom of the holster. It doesn't interfere with drawing the pistol. It is a matter of taste , but for my preference for casual carry , I like it. For my usual clothing preferences , Iu hate when there is excess holster material hanging below the muzzle , and frequently use belt slide type holsters.
I like the pronounced foreward tilt, and the ride height was about right trade offs for this type of holster. Concealment was slightly better than expected for this type of holster. Not as good as my eventual made to order pancake , but still doable under shirt tail with only modest lump. I'm pleased for an interm/ knock around holster.
At the same time I took advantage of a package deal to get a Hogue Grip sleeve also for one low price. Usually I'm not a fan of such things. But while the P90 seemed to fit my hand great while fondling it in the gun store , it did twist side to side while firing more than I prefered.
I slipped on the Grip Sleeve , trimmed the bottom edge somewhat sloppily , and loaded up a magazine of Ball.
Stepped behind the bard to the mini gravel berm , and let fly. I still need to put in practice time on the trigger , but no more torqueing in the hand , either one or two handed.
The grip sleeve would be counter productive to carry on a pocket pistol , but on an already large pistol like a P90 it seems to be a minor percentage change. I will minitor in the furure , but don't forsee any carrying issues.
