P89 values

I'm going to start looking for a P89 soon after I sell my .357 Blackhawk. What seems to be the going prices these days on P89s?

Britt....on a good day you might be able to get a nice one for around $200....if you can find a brand new one in the box then I would think around the $300 range. I have one that is 19 years old and it works perfect. So don't be be afraid to buy a used one....Just keeep it clean.

Of course the best is new or like new and local.... private sale... 250-300... or from a local shop 300, I think, but it really depends on handgun prices in your area...

Keep in mind internet sales always look better... but then you not only have to figure in the shipping and transfer fee but all the stress and aggravation of sending the $ and waiting.

I like to see hands on what I'm buying so I'm not a big fan of buying and selling over the internet and through the mail. $300 to me is a huge deal and takes a while to aquire these days or I have to give up to get which is why I would sell the blackhawk. Life keeps getting in the way of having fun these days! If I can find a blued one that's a little worn looking on the outside but still in great condition inside, that would be even better.

If you can get it cheap enough online the not knowing and wait are worth it. With that said the cheapest 89 I've seen recently was around 240 in hand and that was not on gunbroker but a "smaller" auction site. To be clear that was gun and one mag only for that price.

P.S. Closer to spring I think the prices will go up because you can actually go out and shoot and not freeze.

Hit some pawn shops too if you can. I found a like new in the box p95 with everything it came with from the factory for $275 at a pawn shop recently. And you might think about other p series guns just to open up your opportunities. Keep your eyes peeled and you can find some deals.

Double B...... that looks like a Triple P (Post) to me....

BrittB..... I agree, look at other P Series that might suit you as well, and it will increase your opportunity or odds to get a P Series. But, as soon as you get one.... you might find yourself looking for another one similar to it. I'm into the metal framed ones myself and have more than one. I don't have a KP85 yet, but that had some accuracy issues from what I gather and they made some changes/improvements with the P85 MKII (and then quickly came out with the P89).

Don't turn your nose up at on line purchases either.... sometimes you get some really outstanding pictures that show great details.

Around here is is rare to see a used P89 bring under $300 anymore. A couple of years ago they were all over the place for around $200. Any of the decocker P series seem to bring pretty high prices, compared to what they cost new. I wouldn't sell mine for 300.
