P85 magazine

Will P89 magazines work in a P85?

Depends on what P89. The old ones took the same mag as the P85.

So maybe.

If you go to Ruger's sales site I think they have mags for both available so you could maybe compare.

I own a P85 and I have used what I believe was a P89 magazine (plastic floorplate with Ruger emblem) in it.

I can't remember which direction (up or down) but the indent on the older magazines were I think just about 1-2 millimeters lower (?) I have an older model P89 that too the older magazines and fixed it to use the newer ones by removing the magazine release thingy and filing off a little bit on the top. Now if accepts the 'newer' P magazines.

I have two of the older magazines if you want and need them
