Most NATO ammo will go ++P compared to SAMMI specs.

Correct. A lot of 9MM NATO ammo was designed for use in submachine guns, and is subsequently hotter than standard SAAMI 9MM specs.

That's the reason that the "Wonder Nines" that came out in the late '70's and early '80's were built like tanks. they all were designed to fire NATO spec 9mm.

I am not fool enough to blow a handgun up near my face.

I know hot 9mm is good stuff. You don't want to shoot it don't.

A P89 will shoot overloads all day long and be most likely the only 9mm in the world to handle it and survive.

It will handle a squib round then fired once more without blowing up.

Let's talk about pressure. :)

Oh come on now ... the only 9MM in the world to handle it and survive ??? Geez I know you guys love your Ruger semis, but some of these statements are just ridiculous .... There's not a Sig, CZ, or Glock 9MM that wouldn't survive ANYTHING a Ruger did. THe P89 is a stout platform, agreed, but so are the rest of the so-called 'Wonder 9's'. Let's try to be just a little bit reasonable ...

It probably would....

I think part of the issue is 'what the manufacturer of the gun says' they are going to try and limit what ever you shoot in it for liability reasons... believe me, if a gun blows up or even just the slide cracks they want to try and figure out what 'YOU" did wrong to cause it... just corporate nature.

No I don't but am confident it wouldn't fly apart an injure the shooter.
