Our July hunt.

My friend and I walked and stalked these. Both were shot within seconds from each other. We walked about 8 miles before we spotted them from about 390 yards. We slowly moved closer through the brush, up to about 190 yards. Shot them from the kneeling position. We used a BRNO 601 30-06. Limpopo province South-Africa.

We shot 7 Impala and 4 Wildebeest (blue) on the occasion. We were hunting for meat for a few guys that does not hunt themselves. We shot everything on foot, covered a lot of miles throughout the weekend. Lot of fun though.

.30-06 one of my favorites .308 is the other for large critters. Nice post. Good you were after meat for someone that needed it. My .30-06 is a 1917 Remington, the .308 is a Ruger M77.
