Our household..............

Our telephone has been out since last Thursday. Fortunately Nita's cell phone still rings when anyone calls that number. (Mine no longer rings. Thought about another one, but been kinda nice and quiet.)

Any way, I heard Nita's cell phone ringing and sort of listened for her to answer. Finally I jumped up and answered it, and it was Nita's sister.

Afterward Nita told me she had thought at first the ringing was on TV. Then she thought it strange a telephone would be ringing as she was watching a program on rabbits of the American desert on PBS.

We're still kinda new to this cell phone stuff.

I take my dogs for a walk in the morning, always down the same streets through our neighborhood. I usually see this one old guy out walking in the mornings. Real nice guy, I’ve gotten to know him, he doesn’t walk too fast, real old...lived in the same house since it was built in 1970, when the neighborhood was first built. he was a real estate agent.

When we pass each other walking, he tells me: “The first 100 years are the hardest.”
