Ordered Two New Rugers Today!

I finally broke down and ordered a 'New Vaquero' 45lc/45acp Convertible 4 5/8" bbl. I've been wanting one for a long time and I figured I better put some money on one before they disappear.

Was on Ruger's web-sight and as I was looking at the Distributor's model Blackhawks the Stainless 44 Flat Top disapeared right before my eyes... that was a sign to get one before they're gone too!... so I also plunked a down payment on one of the 'TALO' Blackhawk .44spl SS 4 5/8" bbl... what an impeccable assembly job this one has, it's absolutely Perfect!

I canceled my 45-Flat Top Order... maybe if/when it comes out in 4 5/8's bbl I will get one. :wink:

I have a couple of .44 Special flat tops - one a 5½" blued and one a SS 4 5/8" barreled model. They are SUPERB revolvers in every way.

I also have a Bisley SS Black Hawl .45 Colt/.45 ACP Convertible. It is everything I hoped a convertible would be and then some.

I saw the 'distributor' models on the website when I was looking over the guns there. I noticed no prices listed. What is the differences in distributor guns? Thanks; just curious.

The distributor guns are limited editions. The distributors guarantee to take so many of a particular design and the factory supplies them to their specs.

As a for instance, the .44 Special Flattop was originally a "distributor only" of Lipsey's Distributors. They ordered 2000 revolvers and Ruger made them. These were blued revolvers, 1000 had 5½" barrels and 1000 had 4 5/8" barrels. They sold so well that Ruger added them to their line.

Since then a consortium of distributors (TALO) has ordered a Stainless model with 4 5/8" barrel. It has also sold well. One of the most practical field revolvers made.

I didn't know till recently that 'TALO' was a branch of 'Lipsey's Distributors' ... it gets a little confusing as to which model comes from who, but I'm impressed with the choices that are out there these days.

Check it, when I did my .45 New Vaquero, very little was removed. Unlike the Blackhawk, or your Redhawk. The NV went from accurate, to accurate, in my hands. I think that reamer dissapeared though.

I know where it's at.............. I was browsing the "RugerForum.net" and came across a thread about the same loaner reamer... it made me grin thinking just how many miles that sucker has traveled, and like the energizer-bunny, it keeps on going... and going... and going... :lol:
